Expand your workspace with virtual desktops.
Desk Hedron is another attempt at enlarging cramped desktop real estate by giving you up to nine depsktops you can rotate between.
This is just an EXE file, so there's no need to install it. This gives it the advantage of being small and quick to use, but also partly explains why it's so simple. Double clicking the .EXE file will plant a while rectangle in the system tray, and when clicked, your desktop will shrink back, and using the cursor keys or mouse wheel you can rotate to a new clean desktop.
Right clicking the rectangle allows you to add more desktops. You can open whatever you want on any desktop, though when you change desktops processes don't stop. If you have iTunes playing, you'll continues to hear it even if you're on a different desktop.
The graphical effect when changing desktops is attractive without being intrusive - flicking between desktops is quick and smooth. Unfortunately Desk Hedron doesn't support multi-monitor setups, and unlike Apple's Spaces, you can't pre-assign certain applications to specific desktops.
Despite lacking options, Desk Hedron is a lightweight program that can help clear up your cluttered monitor.

This has been standard functionality in Linux.
Finally. This is what I miss on my desktop at work where they still use a Microsoft desktop. I have been using virtual desktops for years on my Linux systems at home.
Great that it is a single exe, so I can bring it on my USB-stick.
Pros:
single exe
Cons:
should have been standard functionality More

Great Program BUT It has Some Minor Issues That Should be Fixed.
This is a great program with many desktops available. The best part is that even full screen applications can be switched. All the features of Windows Stay with each desktop. It is a lightweight program and the shortcut key is very convenient. One problem I had is that the Windows 7 scheme would change to Windows 7 Basic. Also, when you close the program, it leaves a "explorer.exe" process on your computer for each screen you opened. When you shut off your computer, it also flickers once for every screen you open. This is a great program but you can also try Dexpot or VirtuaWin (Windows Only). Personally, I recommend Dexpot or DeskHedron because of the excellent 3D Graphics.
Pros:
Great Graphics
Customizable
Fast
Stable
Powerful
Light- Does not slow down computer
Cons:
Leaves traces on processes after exited program
Makes screen flicker when shutting off computer
Switches Theme to Windows 7 Basic (Could be a Pro) More
